Just heard the inevitable, Apple had refused to approve official Google Voice application itself from the App Store, citing the fact that they “duplicate features that come with the iPhone”. Yahoo Image Search adds Sightseeing Feature
July 24th, 2009Yahoo has launched an interesting feature to their Image Search which lets you do Sightseeing Without Leaving Yahoo Image Search.
There is no separate section. When you type in a city in image search, Yahoo will suggest related points of interest to your search, giving you more relevent information about your city search. I searched for Las Vegas on Yahoo image search, and it showed me Bellagio, Caesar’s Palace, Paris Las Vegas etc on left hand navigation bar that will include image results for various points of interest and popular destinations within Las Vegas. Gmail displaying Images For Contacts
July 22nd, 2009Gmail will now display images automatically if the account owner has send an email to the sender at least twice in the past. It should also be noted that the images will only be displayed if the email is send from an authenticated server such as Google Mail, Yahoo Mail or Windows Live Mail.
Every other email with images will be handled just like before

The standard start page remains untouched as of now but it is possible to point the web browser to yahoo.com/trynew to experience and test the new start page. Opening the url will redirect to another Yahoo url (http://m.www.yahoo.com/) that cannot be accessed directly as it is probably checking a cookie or referrer to decide whether to display the new or old start page.
